Hali Schwartz has been immersed in the world of yoga practice since 1988 when she began her first of many travels to the Himalayas, India. It was there that she was introduced to the rich textures of yoga philosophy as they relate to personal development. She has since continued to study and practice at The International Meditation Institute in Kullu, India, returning every 1-2 years since 1988. The course of her studies has focused strongly on the ancient Sanskrit language; the various yoga scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali's Yoga Sutra; as well as chanting from the Vedas, Upanishads, and the verses from the above mentioned yoga texts. |
In her many travels to this marvellous country she has had the chance to experience the "stories" from the fascinating world of Hindu mythology and she incorporates these into her teachings. Hali has also had the opportunity to find her way into the study, practice, and teaching of Hatha Yoga through some excellent teacher training instruction in the Sivananda and Bihar schools of Hatha Yoga in Kerala, India where she travelled to in January of 2001, 2002 and 2003. She has also had the honour of studying in the 'ashtanga yoga' school of hatha yoga with Ron Reid of the Downward Dog studio in Toronto Canada, where she completed a teacher training program in 2001. |

Hali's courses, workshops and classes are an interweaving of these great traditions. A tradition she hopes to share with others in any way she can. |
